About this cookbook
A free family cookbook of 30 genuinely cheap recipes made from everyday ingredients: breakfasts, soups, mains, lunches and leftovers, and sweet treats, with veggie and meat dishes.
More about this cookbook
Every recipe gives simple amounts for 1, 2, 4 or 6 people, and a fun “Kids can help” box marks the jobs children can safely do.
An Allergies and Intolerances page lists the UK’s 14 major allergens with simple, low-cost swaps, and every recipe shows which allergens it contains, what to check on the label and an easy swap where there is one.
It also includes money-saving shopping tips (yellow stickers, frozen veg, own brands, cooking from scratch), a cheap store-cupboard list, batch-cooking and leftover ideas, and a sample week of budget meals.
A Free Food Help page has checked links to Glenrothes Foodbank, Trussell’s foodbank finder, Fife community pantries, Best Start Foods, Scottish Child Payment, free school meals in Fife, Healthy Start and food-waste apps.
